Your complete guide to paying through esenda

Your school uses esenda to take payments securely online. This guide explains how to find your payment, the ways you can pay, and what happens once you’ve paid.

Step 1: Open the payment link on your invoice

On your invoice or payment email, you’ll see a payment link. Click it to go to esenda, your school’s secure payment provider.

Step 2: Enter your details

Enter your email address and the details asked for about the pupil and invoice. We’ll send your payment confirmation to this email address.

For invoice payments, you’ll then see the total outstanding on the account, and the information may be pre-filled.

Step 3: Choose how to pay

You’ll see the payment options available for your country. If you’re paying from somewhere else, select Change to update it.

Your school chooses which options to offer, so you may not see all of them.

Apple Pay or Google Pay

The quickest way to pay on your phone. Tap Apple Pay or Google Pay and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, your fingerprint or your passcode.

Card

Pay with your personal debit or credit card. Enter your card details and billing address, then select Pay. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment.

See our card payment guide →

Pay by Bank

Pay securely from your own banking app, with no details to type in. Choose your bank, and you’ll be taken to your banking app, where the payment details are already filled in. Just confirm the payment.

See our Pay by Bank guide →

Bank transfer

Make a transfer yourself from your banking app, using the bank details and reference shown on screen. Once you’ve made the transfer, return to esenda and select Payment Made. Bank transfers can take one to two business days.

Paying from overseas

If you’re paying from outside the UK, you’ll see the payment options available in your country, and the total before you confirm. Your school receives the full amount due, and you can choose the method that suits you best.

Step 4: Confirmation

Once your payment is complete, you’ll see a confirmation on screen, and a copy will be sent to your email address. That’s it!

Frequently asked questions

Which payment method should I choose?

Apple Pay, Google Pay, card and Pay by Bank are instant. Bank transfer takes one to two business days. If you’re paying a large amount, Pay by Bank or bank transfer may suit you better, as some card limits are lower.

Why does the account name say esenda?

Your school collects payments through esenda, so bank payments go to an account in esenda’s name. This lets your payment be matched to the right pupil automatically.

Is it secure?

Yes. esenda is built for schools, and your payment and personal details are protected throughout.
