Paying your school by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay

This guide shows you how to pay your school by debit or credit card through esenda. If you’re on your phone, you can also pay in a couple of taps with Apple Pay or Google Pay, where your school offers them.

Step 1: Open your payment link

Click the payment link from your school. It takes you to esenda, your school’s secure payment provider.

Step 2: Enter your details

Under Before you pay, enter your email address, the pupil’s name and their date of birth. We’ll send your payment confirmation to this email address.

If you've arrived at esenda through a school's dynamic invoice link, this information will be pre-filled.

Check or enter the amount, then select Continue.

Step 3: Choose how to pay

You’ll see the payment options for your country. If you’re paying from somewhere else, select Change to update it.

From here, you can pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay, or by card.

Paying with Apple Pay or Google Pay

Apple Pay and Google Pay are the quickest way to pay on your phone.

1. On your phone, tap Apple Pay or Google Pay.
2. Check the amount, then confirm the payment with Face ID, Touch ID, your fingerprint or your passcode.
3. That’s it. Your payment is complete, and you’ll receive an email confirmation.

If you start your payment on a computer and select Apple Pay, you’ll see a code to scan with your iPhone so you can finish the payment on your phone.

Paying by debit or credit card

1. Select Card.
2. Enter your card number, expiry date and security code (the three digits on the back of your card).
3. Enter the name on your card.
4. Search for your billing address, or select Enter Address Manually. If your card is registered outside the UK, select Not paying from United Kingdom?
5. Select Pay.

Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment, for example in your banking app or with a one-time code. This is a standard security check.

Step 4: Payment complete

Once your payment has gone through, you’ll see a confirmation on screen, and we’ll send a confirmation to your email address.

Which cards can I use?

You can pay with personal Visa, Mastercard or American Express debit and credit cards, where your school accepts them.

Can I use Apple Pay or Google Pay on a computer?

Apple Pay and Google Pay are designed for your phone. If you start on a computer and choose Apple Pay, you can scan the code shown to finish on your iPhone. Otherwise, you can pay by card on any device.

Why was my card declined?

Check that the card number, expiry date, security code and billing address are correct. If it’s still declined, your bank may have blocked the payment as a precaution. Contact them to approve it, or choose another way to pay.

Is it secure?

Yes. Your card details are encrypted and handled securely, and your bank may ask you to confirm the payment as an extra layer of protection.
